My son is very interested in attending Drew, which is a local college for him. He plans to board. I am concerned though that the campus clears out on the weekend, with many kids returning home. Would love to know if my impression is accurate.

Your son might like to visit on a Saturday and talk to some of the students. My son's perspective is that not many do (although the first 2 months of school had more) His dorm and classmates seem to come from 2+ hours away and go home mainly on the breaks and maybe a birthday if they can.
