UN Connections

Could someone please tell me about their experiences with the UN? Admissions told me that there are a lot of internships available with that organization and I'd like to hear how they went. I am not interested in carrying someone's briefcase around all day, I'd really like to be involved. Is that possible?

Any thoughts on UN internships?

Hi WW!

I haven't heard anything specifically about UN internships. I know that you can do one as an elective part of the UN Semester, but I'm not sure if you can do it separately as well. BTW have you seen the info on the UN Semester? If not, here's a link which includes some downloads (brochure & fact sheet): Semester on the United Nations

It sounds pretty interesting!

Thanks for the info, I'd like a career as an interpreter or a foreign service officer, so a UN connection would be really advantageous.

Does anybody know a Drewid who did a UN Semester and/or internship? I'd love to know more about these programs myself since I'm always looking for new ideas for consideration at my own institution; and I'm sure the info would be useful to prospective students trying to make their college decisions in these final weeks.
