What Kind of Laptop

What kind of laptop is recommended? I'll be in the school of engineering...

Do students usually bring their laptops to classes? I guess the lighter the better?

What about brining a printer? I'll have access to printing at the Honor's lounge/room, so will I really need a printer?

I would suggest bringing a printer, or asking your roomate if you just want to bring one. There's a lot of times where you just need to print a page or two and it's inconvenient to go to the library or honors lounge. Also, after a certain time the library and honors lounge close. as far as a laptop goes, a lot of people like smaller laptops, however it really depends on the type of person you are. If you like watching movies and playing lots of games on your laptop you might as well get a bigger screen, if you are that kind of person that would just use it to browse around on the internet and take notes to bring to class than you'd probably want the smaller one.

well i think any brand is good if you get a good deal, but i would generally look at Dells. Its also convenient since most people have Dells and every power cord is universal with their computers so you could swap power cords in the library.
