think of summer orientation as a party. you'll meet a bunch of people, get some informative lectures, have a lot of fun, eat a lot of free food. you don't sign up for classes then, or anytime before you start school (your adviser will automatically sign you up for your first term of classes a few weeks before school starts, and you can check those classes online at Drexel One). If you have any issues with that, make sure to call up your academic adviser. I would not recommend bringing a parent, since you don't want to be that nerd with their parents (no offense to anyone). I think this option may have been put in there for the people coming from across the country whos parents have not seen drexel yet. some people will know their roomates already if you specifically know you want to live with a certain person, however you would normally find out your roomate after orientation is done on myhousing. In the past, many people have been their friends at orientation that they ended up living with in housing. i hope this helps!
