Going to Drexel but A Little Confused....

What exactly happens at the summer orientation? Do you find out what housing building you've been assigned to, do you find out who your roommate is, do you sign up for classes? A lot of my friends already know all of this stuff who are going to other schools so I'm getting a little apprehensive. Does anyone know any of these answers?
Also, there was an option for the summer orientation to bring family members, but pay $75 for.... is a parent's presence necessary? What about for the Honors Luncheon?

Thanks!

I think they email us our building/roommate assignments at the end of July or early August, so we won't find out till then. As for classes, I think for our first year, our advisers assigns us our classes. And parents are not required to come. I'm not sure about the Honors Luncheon though, sorry.

I'm going July 20-21, so if you're going after that, I can let you know!

think of summer orientation as a party. you'll meet a bunch of people, get some informative lectures, have a lot of fun, eat a lot of free food. you don't sign up for classes then, or anytime before you start school (your adviser will automatically sign you up for your first term of classes a few weeks before school starts, and you can check those classes online at Drexel One). If you have any issues with that, make sure to call up your academic adviser. I would not recommend bringing a parent, since you don't want to be that nerd with their parents (no offense to anyone). I think this option may have been put in there for the people coming from across the country whos parents have not seen drexel yet. some people will know their roomates already if you specifically know you want to live with a certain person, however you would normally find out your roomate after orientation is done on myhousing. In the past, many people have been their friends at orientation that they ended up living with in housing. i hope this helps!

Roomates?

When I signed up for housing, there was a pretty basic questionnaire designed to help pair up roomates.

Are there any other messages board where ppl. go to look for a room mate?

I'm glad you asked this question. There's actually a message board Drexel might e-mail you soon called "Future Dragons". It will soon get more and more popular as it gets closer to starting school and there is a place to look for roomates. Here are links to the message board:
