What to Bring _ Living in Race St

What do I need to bring if I'm in the Race St suites? Is there a thread w/ a packing list, LOL!

And is it true that the students have to clean their own bathroom?

In Race you get a bed, a desk (no drawers), and a dresser (place to hang clothes, a shelf above, and two drawers underneath) in the bedroom. The common room has a couch and an armchair provided. You also get a full-size fridge/freezer in the kitchenette and cabinet space. Basically, bring everything else you might want. I needed some more storage space so I brought extra drawers/bins for under my bed and such. You can raise/lower the bed to varying heights so as long as you don't buy really tall bins for storage you should be fine. I also suggest purchasing something for a nightstand to fit between your bed and your roommate's bed provided you don't move the furniture around the room. Also, work out with your suitemates what you should each bring when it comes to shared items like the TV, end tables/a coffee table, a microwave, pots/pans, silverware, a rug, lamps (bring a bunch or it will get dark at night - there are only a few lights already in the suite), etc.

Yes you do have to clean your own bathrooms when you live in the suites because it's part of your suite. If you live in the traditional dorms then people clean the bathrooms for you because they are shared by the floor. That's really one of the only downsides to the suites because I tended to be the only one to ever clean the bathroom, but I didn't mind too much. Shower curtains are provided but you can purchase your own if you want.

If you want pictures of Race PM me and I'll see if I can link you to some of the photos I took over the year. A friend of mine also has an album of one of the suites unfurnished I believe.

We bought the TP although you can get some from the front desk if you want to for free...it's just the really crappy kind. Paper towels you buy yourself. I bought carpets for both but it's your choice.
