Are my stats good enough for the Penoni Honors College?

Ok I got accepted to Drexel with lots of scholarship money and right now it's my #1 choice. I didn't get automatically accepted to the Honors College, but I'm planning on applying. Could someone chance me?

SATs: 1250/1960
AP Classes: Last Year: AP Lang and Comp-3, AP US History- 3
This Year: AP Physics B, AP Lit and Comp, AP Spanish Lang
GPA: not sure of the actual number, but it's an A or an A-
Extra Curriculars: Cross country, and several weak clubs (no strong clubs at my school)
Over 200 hours of volunteering at the hospital, nursing home, and library
Rigor of classes: Very difficult, I'm taking just about all Honors and AP classes, plus a really
hard elective (Computer Programming)

Am I missing anything? Thanks! I really hope I'm qualified enough.

To anybody already at Drexel in the honors college: What is it like aside from the school's description of it. I feel like I'd fit in a lot better in the honors college.

oh i forgot my class rank:
it's unweighted, I think I'm in the top 10% : maybe 20/270 or 25/270 (these are approximate)

You'll probably be OK, but it will depend upon the other applications this year. You'll hear things like "I got such and such, and I got in", but you won't know for sure until they accept you.

As far as benefits, that will depend whether or not you take advantage of them. Many/most of the Pennoni kids live in the honors dorm. That was the most important thing for my son. There are other things like trips and tickets and such. The classes are mostly the same, but you can do a bit more work and get "honors" for it.

Thanks for being critical, I would definitely understand if I don't get in because there will always be smarter people. The College of Engineering was a reach school for me as it is.

I do have a question about the honors dorm though. Does your son like it? Do they have any special rules like quiet hours, or is it the same as any other dorm with "honors" in front of it? Thanks for your help!

I'll probably just apply in March, and whatever happens happens.

He loves the dorm. I think it's a calmer dorm, just by the nature of the kids who live there. I think the quiet hour thing is more a room-by-room issue, since the dorm is suite-style. However, from what I understand, it does have its lively moments (and I'm sure I'm not told all the details)! The dorm is newer, so things seem slightly "nicer" than the other dorms. I haven't been in the brand-new Millennium Hall, but that's for sophomores, anyway.

Why are you applying in March?

And, as I said, I think you'll be OK for Pennoni. You just can't know, you know?

That was kind of what I'm looking for, a quieter more serious atmosphere. I can't really handle roughhousing or noise when I'm studying.

I'm applying in March because I wasn't automatically considered for the honors college and March is when they start considering other people (apparently).

Yeah I'm not really sure, like you said, it will depend on the intensity of competition. On one side, I feel like the honors college is much more suitable for me and where I'd fit in the most, but on the other side I feel the honors option classes will be too hard. Well I still have lots of time to think about it

Once again thanks for your assistance. It helps to hear from someone's experiences than from the Drexel website where they repeat the same things over and over.
