I am a rising junior and used the service for both freshman and sophomore years. I personally really, really enjoyed having it; it was so convenient, especially since I lived very far from the laundry room of my dorm sophomore year. Freshman year, however, the laundry rooms are always fairly close to everyon, in case you were wondering. The service is actually run by students (and I think some graduated students), and is pretty good most of the time.
Pros:
-Requires no time and effort!
-The laundry is returned perfectly folded (and clean of course)
-The dry-cleaning service offered if more convenient than going to Blue Star dry cleaning on 9th if you don't have a car (I dry-cleaned items fairly often, such as formal dresses and sweaters)
-They never lost an item of mine, nor shrunk an item. Whenever I would give them a t-shirt from American Apparel, however, it would come back with bleach stains for whatever reason (they don't use bleach, however, so it was more an issue with the t-shirts than the service). So there were some items I would wash on my own.
-They are really nice guys (students) who run the service.
Cons:
-They returned clothes are wrapped in plastic so they smell like saran wrap sometimes.
-They "lost" my bag once, but it was only lost for a week and was ultimately found and returned. Usually the pickup and return is very timely.
-I do think they do lose some peoples items, because I got another girl's sportsbra in my returned bag once, haha. So I wouldn't give them something you couldn't replace.
-They are students who are running this service, so I guess some people (mainly other girls) feel weird about giving them their underwear/intimates and thus end up doing a load on their own in addition to what they give to Devil Laundry. It doesn't phase me, however.
I do think it is worth the money. I was always grateful for the convenience.
