Transportation between Charlotte airport (CLT) and Duke campus?

Does anyone know of any shuttle services or transportation service between Charlotte airport (CLT) and Duke University? I'd appreciate information related to what's available.

From San Francisco there are no direct non-stop flights to Raleigh-Durham airport but there are non-stop direct flights to Charlotte. So I want to know if it's an option to fly to Charlotte and from there take a shuttle bus or some other transportation that drops me at the Duke campus.

It's 3 hours from Charlotte to Durham, so I recommend trying to get a flight to RDU even if it requires switching planes or a short layover.

Yeah I'm from the SF bay area too, just transfer to get to RDU at another airport. You save yourself a lot of trouble not to mention you can probably save money by comparing different routes and choosing the cheapest one.

I would imagine that you'd only likely have a connection at Charlotte if you flew US Airways since that's their hub.

My soon-to be-sophomore daughter usually flies out of Sacto and changes in Chicago or some such. You'll get used to changing planes and I'm sure leaving from SFO or OAK will give you lots of options, and better prices..

For transportation between RDU and Duke, check this thread

Airport to/from Duke?

The reason I posted the question about transportation between CLT and Duke campus is that there are non-stop flights available from the California Bay Area to CLT but not to RDU. To get to RDU, if one is flying from the SFO Bay Area, one has to change flights at another airport on the way and then take a cab/shuttle/car ride from RDU to the university.

I was wondering whether there was the option of an easy-to-catch, regularly scheduled shuttle bus or similar transportation available from CLT to the Duke campus. That could make it possible to consider flying non-stop to Charlotte from the SF Bay Area and taking a ~3-hour shuttle bus ride directly to Duke campus.

Good luck with that. Are the prices any better between SFO and RDU? The lay over isn't a big deal (unless you miss your connection...), and neither is the ride from RDU to Duke. I doubt you will say the same about the ride from Charllotte to Durham. My nephew is at UNC Charlotte and drives his car to Durham often, but has never mentioned a shuttle.

charlotte to Duke univ.

I have a lot of friends and family that had to go to Raleigh often so I started my own shuttle service. ecoSeat offers shuttle service from Charlotte to Raleigh and surrounding areas. We have had many requests from parents of freshman and sophomores to add more routes to NCSU, Duke and even ASU. We can add more routes and keep an affordable rate, if we can get about 4 passengers a trip

vehicles equipped with wireless internet, 110V AC outlets and USB charge ports.

We're currently offering rides from Charlotte to Raleigh at $25 each way per passenger (summer/recession special).
