So I hate Econ but want to do Business

I looekd at the requirements to do an Econ major, and none of the classes seem at all interesting. Quite frankly, I think I would hate it.
BUT I want to get into business
I know yall will say... you can do whatever and still get the internships and blah blah
but seriously...
How easy can that be

What to do...

A structured business program (USC is looking REALLY nice right now) seems more suitable and fitting to my interests... IDk

if you are smart enough to get into duke doing a business program as an undergrad seems like a pretty big waste in my opinion. it's not going to challenge you intellectually and it won't prepare you to be a leader or innovator. do you not have other intellectual interests besides business? really?

When you say business do you mean:

Investment banking? Consulting? Corporate Development?

Could you be more specific?

I grappled with the same thing and seriously found the PERFECT solution: public policy.

You can major in ANYTHING and go into business. Major in one of your true intellectual interests.

Art History=Economics for business...

It's true that you don't need to major in Econ to do business, but just be aware that business schools look closely at the quantitatively based classes that you take, so make sure to take classes like calculus or statistics too. It just so happens that economics is pretty quantitatively based and serves as a good option. While you can get away with "easier" majors like pub pol or art history, business schools too will know that they are easier so you need to balance them out with quantitative classes in other areas too.

P.S. I believe the pub pol major requires some econ anyway.
