have you visited? i chose duke over both those schools a few years back and can probably provide some insight into the situation but you'll have to give a little more info on your personality/what you want to do on campus when you get to college (they are all strong in the sciences and will be perfectly good at getting you into med school).

obviously, i think the best choice is duke but i am clearly biased. they are all great schools. when i was in your decision, though, it was much more of a duke vs. columbia decision with cornell out of the picture.

Duke > Columbia if you're premed. Very strong science courses, great advising, lots of support, overall just a great place.

well, it's hard to say if I'm a city or town person because I really appreciate the aspects of both environments......I really like NYC but at the same time I think I will enjoy the cohesion that is at Duke or Cornell....

I have not visited Duke, which makes this decision hard. I hard it has a lot of school spirit and a very active social life, which is attractive towards me. But the vibe I got at Columbia was really great too. I don't know, I just think that I am leaning towards Columbia versus Duke now.........

I am from LA, in a suburban area, so I know what a big city is like. LA and the west coast is very different from Duke, Cornell, and Columbia, so anywhere I go would be a big culture shock. I know the weather's best at Duke, but don't know too much else....

i didnt see you were premed. That is tougher since Duke's sciences are stronger. I'd say go by campus. If you like the city enough to sacrifice a bit of the program strength, go columbia. If you don't mind a more suburban campus, and like a warmer climate, go duke. duke social scene is probably better as well, unless your idea of a good time is going out to the city with some friends.
