Merit Aid/ Pharmacy

I was wondering what kind of merit aid Duquesne gives out. When I went over the summer they told me I would get money but couldnt even give me a ballpark range. I have 1380/1600 SATs and class rank is top 3% weighted and top 1% unweighted. 4.0 GPA unweighted and 4.3 GPA weighted. I have a part time job and lots of extra- curriculars.

Also, after the 2 year pre-pharmacy, how hard is it to get into the Pharmacy program? Their website says they take 85% of the pre-pharm students to the pharm program.

I think you'll be offered a Chancellor's scholarship. Duquesne give strong preference to their own prepharms - from what I've heard they rarely accept transfers except from a few affiliated programs. I would ask them what the GPA and PCAT average from this year's accepted P1s is.

thanks for the reply. I think I'll ask them for that info. It's nice to know that they give preference to their own pre-pharms. Hopefully I'll get a nice scholarship, because it is just super expensive without one!

BTW, can you pm me what they say about the ave P1 stats? I sent them an email about their program some time ago but didn't get much info back. Duq is on my d's list too but not sure she'll apply as we're oos and her SAT is good but probably not top level. As you said, it's pricey to begin with! Thanks!
