Some students do study on Friday-Sunday, some don't. I'd say more don't than do. But, you can definitely find people in the library any night of the week studying. Weekends for some people start on Thursday (there's always a group standing somewhere ready to go to Pitt), but I'd say most people start them on Friday. During finals week/week before, all you see are people in the library or studying anywhere they can find a spot.
Haha, grading definitely depends on the teacher. I had a philosophy teacher that said as long as we tried, we would get an A. I've had another teacher that expected 210%, not kidding, and wanted you not only to quote everything he said, but also give your opinion and outside information on how it relates, all essay questions on tests. I'd say in general the grades are either fair or a little overly-fair/understanding of effort you put into it.
