My daughter applied early action. We've heard nothing so far. The calendar says decisions will be communicated on or near February 1, which I think means soon...really soon! Good luck!

Congrats to everyone! I am thinking of transfering to Earlhman so i won't here till April or May.
If anyone has visited campus what were your impressions? I won't be able to visit till March at the earliest.

Congrats to Seagal, Proo's girl and all EA accepted students. Thankfully DD got in. By the numbers Earlham is a bit of a safety for her, but quite high on her mental list. Should she gain acceptance to schools ranked much higher, and yet chooses Earlham, I'd still be very pleased with her prospects for the next four years!

My daughter applied RD and got an acceptance letter a few days ago--a very nice personalized letter which was a surprise coming so early. I agree Earlham would be a very nice choice even if something of a safety school for my daughter too. But the letter said nothing about financial aid--will that come later?

Earlham Application for Financial Aid is not due until March 1. I doubt they would offer aid packages prior to that date. I suggest you download the form from the College's web site ASAP, if you don't have it already. BTW, congrats to your daughter. I believe there are two accepted students days coming up on Mondays in April. I'm glad cause we've yet to visit campus.

Thanks. I did fill out the financial aid form for Earlham, but have not sent tax returns yet, since they are not done. We haven't visited yet either, so I am glad to hear there will be visit days coming up. Congrats to your daughter too. Even though Earlham is not as selective as some of the other schools, it has a lot going for it from what I hear.

It's a funny school (not ha-ha)... I could see it outperforming in academic rigor a lot of places that are hotter on the ratings scales. I think they have a pretty unique approach on a lot of fronts-- including selection of students. Of course location doesn't make it a particularly hot destination. It's not showy. Son loves it. It was different from all others he investigated.

Can you tell us more about what your son loves about Earlham, bigpicdad? Or maybe we should start a new thread on this subject. I know there are older posts, but it is good to get the perspective of people with recent experience. Thanks.

I received my acceptance letter (Yay!), then got a second letter a day or two later with a merit award (Cunningham Scholarship) that says the funds are administered by the admissions office.
About academic rigour, my mom attended Earlham and says that's absolutely true.

My daughter has been accepted. She is a B, B minus HS student with allot of talent in art/drama.
I am wondering, can a B student (HS) do well at EArlham? She tends to be spacey but alive and active in classes she's interested in.
We cannot visit the school, as we live in Fla....so I'd like to get as much info as possible!
