How is Earlham College?

What kind of school is Earlham College? Are students focused more on studying or playing? Are the classes taught well?

I am interested in Japanese classes -- maybe Japanese Studies. Are the Japan-related classes good? How are the Politics-related classes?

What political atmosphere is there at Earlham? What political parties are most popular?

Josiah - Earlham has an excellent Japanese program. I believe the student body is pretty liberal, but respectful of a variety of viewpoints. Politics department is supposed to be good, but small. Of course the whole school is pretty small, even for a liberal arts college. Community service and internationalism are more evident at Earlham than at many schools.
