What sort of details are you looking for?

ECU is a public state university with an enrollment of just less than 20,000 located in Greenville, NC pop. 65,000.

The majority of the students are in-staters. When I attended many years ago I had friends there who were from Va.,Pa, and NJ too.

It is not a suitcase school.

ECU was originally a teachers college so education is one of it's strongest depts. It's business major is popular as is the school of nursing. The art school is well thought of. They have recently added an undergrad engineering degree. ECU offers a wide range of majors covering many different interests. You can find out more about them on the website.

ECU is not as difficult to get into as UNC-CH and NCSU.

Football games are a big deal in the Fall.

Thanks, Packmom.

We will be visiting the campus this summer with our daughter. She is interested in their speech pathology program. I am glad to hear it is not a suitcase school, as she would be there on the weekends. Again, thanks for the info.!

Very welcome peteypie. Greenville is the largest town in northeastern NC. If you are from a large place, don't be put off by the rural nature of the surrounding area. It grows on you. ECU students find plenty to do in G-Vegas (student nickname for Greenville... town in the middle of nowhere).
NC is a very wide state so some instate students are a good 4-5 hours from home so don't go often.

PETEYPIE - my gal just graduated from ECU in Dec and is now off to TX for a huge internship. She is also from OOS - (all UNC schools have a limit of 18% from OOS - which ECU is a part of).

I agree with Packmom - in that it is kinda a big city in the middle of no-where - but lots to be found in G'ville - and only a couple of hours to the OBX and great beaches. I think the school has alot to offer - our gal had a great time there and did well - we have no second thoughts at all

It is my understanding that they have a great Speech Path program there - as are all of their health/medical related programs at ECU. Definitely NOT a suitcase school - lots of sports things going - and lots of opportunities as well.

Good luck - and GO PIRATES

You can PM me if you would like
