Just thinking ECU - need help re: OOS too

My son is a 12th grader, and we've just starting considering ECU. I've heard so many good things about it, and their engineering program looks great. If anyone can give comments on the engineering program, I'd love to hear about it. Also, I'm worried about the OOS cost though (we are in VA). Is there much financial help for OOS? Thanks!

S is a soph at ECU and is very happy there. We are instate ( and not engineering major)so I don't have any answers for your questions, sorry . I know there are lots of kids fr. VA at ECU.
ECU has rolling admissions.
If your S is interested in ECU he should apply as early as possible.
There is an Open House on Nov. 14th.
Have you checked the ECU homepage for merit scholarship possibilities?

Eldest D is at ECU from OOS and loves it. Son has been accepted but not made his decision yet. He has also been accepted at App State. Son is concerned about class size - especially for the large freshman lecture classes. Has your son made a decision? We found NC schools to be a bargain even compared with our in-state tuition.

axcmom, Hope your S loves cold/snow if he likes ASU It's great for winter sports.
Lots of kids from our h.s. go to ASU. It's very popular in our part of NC as is UNC-W.
S was not interested because he hates the cold weather and he really wanted a D1 football school.
He laughs about talking to friends at ASU who are freezing when it's sixty degrees in Greenville.
Good luck to your S in making his decision.
