just found Eckert

We just found Eckerd both through some stuff on US News and then through Colleges That Change Lives. My D is a jr. The school seems to really be a good fit for her. But its a long way from home here in OH.

My neighbor's son attends Eckerd. He loves it there. Marine biology and similiar majors are popular. The dorms are right on the intercoastal, so very pretty. I would say it has a laid back feel, not highly competitive. But I am going on what my neighbor's son is like.

candace, Do you know if your neighbor has a car? Is it necessary to get around?

Everyone says that marine biology is popular, but actually the number of business degrees issued last year was triple the number of biology degrees.

I have read complaints about finding employment after gradutation years ago. I wonder if this is an issue.

Yes, he has a car. A car would be very useful, but I am sure you could get by without one.

Hmmm, I was told by a coworker that it is difficult to get around that area without a car. Thanks. BTW, this coworker does not know about the school (other than passing by), but he loves the general area. He vacations in that every year.

You could get rides from friends. Otherwise, yes, you do need a car to get places off campus.
