This is an exciting announcement from the University concerning the dance program. Currently Dance is a BA degree with three levels of dance for MTE majors. Elon just announced that they now will offer 4 levels of DAN for MTE, and beginning in the fall as well as a BFA Degree in Dance Performance and Choreography!
My D, who is an accomplished dancer, is very impressed with the dancers in her level 3 classes. She currently is minoring in dance, and is excited that there will be more classes offered to the performing BFA majors. So good news!

Melsmom, Thanks for the info. My daughter is also a mega-dancer and Elon's dance offerings and choreography opportunities within their MT program (or the dance minor) are part of what drew her to their MT program. She is SOOOO excited about becoming a member of the class of '11. I think she is going to orientation this coming weekend. We're still working out the details. Maybe she will be able to meet your daughter.

Sounds great nydancemom. Your visit is sure to be wonderful, and your daughter will really start getting psyched after it! No doubt our Ds will be sharing some dance classes in the future. We also heard about the new dance offerings, and I'm glad to hear about the dance BFA. The dance minor, already available, is a great addition for BFA majors in MT or Acting.

Melsmom - I saw your daughter for a quick moment at Grand Night in line!

Grand Night was very impressive, as are all the shows at Elon! FYI - most of the numbers in Grand Night are music directed and dance choreographed by students. There are several other dance shows available for dancers.
