| Hi Hope2bELONmom
Thanks for the congratulations on my younger daughter's acceptance.
She has had many other acceptances already, and isn't sure yet what her college decision will be. We are waiting for financial information and she is also applying to the honors and college fellows programs at Elon. If she was accepted into one of those with additional scholarship money, that would help!
She is a dancer, like her sister who is already at Elon in the MT program, and although does not want to major in dance, would be able to minor in dance while pursuing another major. She knows from D#1 what a great dance program Elon has, so that is appealing. She will visit her sister in the winter months by herself, and will be able to take a few dance classes while she is there, so I think that will give her a taste of what Elon could be like for her. We'll see what happens! |

| Also, so sorry Hope2bELONmom, I did not mean to point out the obvious if it came across that way. Being a blonde I personally do get the different posters on this Board mixed up at times; I will definitely do a better job of reading the prior posts before "jumping in the post reply box" |

| I got a deferral from Elon's EA program. But my stats seem way lower after I'm reading all of these threads. I'm a white female from Virginia with a 3.3 uw GPA and a 1150 (CR&V) on my SAT.
anyone know the breakdown of how many students got accepted deferred or rejected from EA and ED? |

| Hey all! I am going to start a facebook group for those who have been accepted to elon for mt class of 2012! I would love to start meeting you all! I have my fingures crossed for those of you who got deffered. When I was there for my auditions i had at least 5 people from this years freshmen class tell me that they had been deffered. So don't give up hope! |

That is a wonderful idea to start a Elon 2012 MT thread. Let us know what you are going to title it.
Please be aware though that there is a ELON 2012 thread already on facebook for all those students accepted ED and EA. Some of the students on that thread were deferred, as well. So far only one of those kids is a MT major.
That is comforting news that some of the Elon MT majors were originally deferees themselves!!! |

| It is called " Elon Musical Theatre Class of 2012!" I posted on the Elon 2012 group to let people know, but I'm assuming people will start to find it as more acceptances go out. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to find more mt acceptances? |

| I know these posts are old, but reading how high people's stats are, it kind of shocks me that I WAS accepted EA. I mean, I do have a high GPA (Idk what it is on the 4 pt scale cuz my school does not convert it. But numerically overall I have about a 97) and I have lots of extracurriculars and my essay was ok (in my opinion - not competitive or anything special. basically me gushing about how much of a MT nerd I am. haha) and my SAT scores weren't anything special. in the 1100s. And I'm a white female from Georgia. So Idk what Elon's looking for, but all that have posted stats are definitely qualified. I guess that's just how Elon works.
I auditioned for MT yesterday and am anxious to hear. It's so nerveracking knowing how competitive it is. And does anyone know actually HOW much they look at dance? I know it's fairly new (the dance component was brand-new last year, if I'm correct) and I wasn't sure if they weighed it heavily on their decision. I know it's to see potential and for dance class placement, but how much do they put into perspective? |

| kbond,
I cannot go so far as to give you some percentage - but the dance component was added at to the audition process because dance is part of being in MT. Elon graduates well rounded "cross trained" performers. Dance is a consideration in your overall evaluation for acceptance. Stay upbeat and hopeful about all your auditions. Not everyone is a triple threat - if you sang well and acted well and have good grades - and showed some potential in dance - you will likely be in the mix for consideration - and visa-versa for others who are fairly strong in most areas, but could use more training in one area. In any case, keep your options open and things will work out either at Elon or elsewhere.
Best of luck. |

| Thank You Thank you so much to all of the Moms (and Dads) who have been so supportive! We could not have gone through all of this without you. We are crossing our fingers for everyone else awaiting "the call". Anyone else heard? |
