I would hope for the best here and keep trying those phone numbers! I know that Cathy has been travelling and making phone calls as she's had time, and yes, acceptance phone calls have been received TODAY

I auditioned on the last day, last Friday!

Hopefully, there will be several accepted CA kids this year!

I think it would be safe to say that Cathy does not have time to call with rejections-------------just good news. If you want a confirmation, call Kimberly in the Performing Arts office, and she may confirm for you. CONGRATS!

LIZ MT

PM me and I will get you in touch with my D, she wants to talk with you!!

Does anyone know if the calls are done?
I auditioned on the last day so, maybe I should wait a little bit longer?
I am trying SO HARD to think optimistically.

After hours of waiting for Cathy to return my D's messages, my D finally got her call. I want to post our excitement, yet at the same time I know what it feels like to see the Elon acceptance list get bigger without any response. I had to search my heart as to why I was writing this. Is it pride? Or is it encouragement? Well, no other group knows what goes into these college
auditions. Unless one's been through a day of auditions, one is clueless. You mention musical theatre as a major, and people just smile and say "Oh, how nice." I'm writing to encourage. Hang in there.

Congratulations! We know exactly how it feels, waiting, waiting, waiting, and then that incredible sense of joy (and relief too) when happy news arrives. Elon is a fantastic program and you guys have every right to be excited !

Pianowiz, I am in agreement with you. My D got her call from Cathy yesterday...after we had totally given up hope (and after FEARFULLY and constantly checking this board during the day to see whether others had been called). Of course, we are very happy; but we SO UNDERSTAND how it feels to not get that call. The waiting (the worst part of all of this) is behind us, but my heart goes out to all of those who are still waiting for acceptances. And I'm going to keep checking the boards, cheering for all of those who have been posting. NO ONE who hasn't gone through this process has any clue what it entails and the emotions involved.

LizMT - hang in there, even if for whatever reason you don't get a phone call right away, remember that, and again, this is worst case scenario, slots may become available from kids with multiple acceptances that simply can only attend one school. Keeping fingers and toes crossed for you. And until you get a letter that says otherwise, keep the faith!

I'm in the same boat as you LizMT! I auditioned on Feb. 29th, and am still waiting for some kind of response from Elon. It's my one and only choice, and I've already decided that I'm going to Elon whether I get into the program or not. I decided too late in the year that BFA MT is what I wanted to major in, and so I only auditioned at a few BFA MT schools. Elon was immediately my first choice from the start, but I know how hard it is to get into the program. My plan is to take the BA Theatre Studies program for my first year, and re-audition next year. (If I don't get in...I'm still trying to keep the faith!) I just feel like I need to be at Elon no matter what, and I haven't been drawn to any other school like I have been to Elon.

MTgrlsmom - thanks fort the suggestion though - cuz I pretty much have given up hope. It's tough to see the list grow (on here and on FB) but I haven't heard anything yet, so we'll see what happens.

Congrats to you all who have been accepted though! That is so wonderful and you really should be proud!!

I'm looking forward to possibly meeting all the MT freshmen next year! like I said, I'll be at Elon either way, and I'd love to meet all your wonderfully talented kids!!

I am so glad to hear that she is still making calls, Max!

Did they send letters out too?

I emailed Kimberly about a wait list notice, and she said Performing Arts letters were mailed on Friday and Monday.

bfa acting

I auditioned for the BFA acting program and unfortunately there is no thread for acting but if any of you know the answers to my questions I'd appreciate it! Does anyone know of anyone who has received a phone call acceptance for the acting program? Is this only for MT? Thank you!

I got my rejection letter today. It sucks. But I'm still gunna do BA Theatre Studies and reaudition next year.

Wish I didn't have to, but that's the way it goes.
