| Westside Story Just wanted to say that d and I went to see Westside story at Elon last night with ericsmom and s. The show was absolutely fantastic! Such fabulous dancing from the girls and the guys!! Great choreography! Truly a production to be proud of!! It certainly says a lot for the school and their mt program.
Elonactress, you did a great job! It was nice to meet up with a few cc people! Everyone was so terrific!

| We're home from Elon, and I must echo kaysmom in how fabulous and impressive the show was! We also enjoyed meeting kaysmom and D and several other CC friends and their beautiful kids and the very enthusiastic and talented Elonactress. NJmtmom - had a nice visit today with your precious son who is a happy freshman! All the students we met seem very happy.
I learned today the value of CC friends..... and I advise all of you try to meet people in the areas where your potential colleges are. Kaysmom is the only reason we are home tonight as planned. On way to Greensboro airport this evening, we ran into a big traffic jam on Interstate, had to exit and go through Greensboro, called kaysmom who was able to give us the alternate directions to the airport. Otherwise, I'm positive we would have missed our flight! Thanks, kaysmom! |

| Mel saw all she needed to see to know that Elon would be a good fit. The people she met were terrific and the campus is beautiful. She thought the audition went well, though it was not as layed back as she had heard. There were about 15 people in the audience! But, for her first MT audition, she left feeling she did the best she could under the circumstances, which is good enough for me.
The show Friday evening was packed, and the kids did a magnificent job. We were impressed with the leads' voices, very classically trained, almost operatic. The choreography was colorful and filled the entire stage with movement and the dancers were a credit to Elon's dance department.
It was fun to meet all the CC parents and kids, too! Now, for the reality check. One of the moms mentioned that of all the kids auditioning Friday, statistically one boy and one girl will be accepted into MT-Ouch. What's good about Elon is that there are other options and majors for those that are not accepted that still want to attend the school that allow them to still audition for the shows. |

| Amazing Masterclasses I am happy to announce that Elon is having two incredible artists come to our school to give masterclasses in the spring. We have the honor of being taught by Jason Robert Brown in April and Adam Guettel in the beginning of May. They will be teaching class and hearing some of my classmates sing. We are all really excited about it and are counting down the days until we get this great opportunity.
This is not the first time we've had masterclasses like these. Elon's been privledged to have other great artists share their skills with us. Ricky Ian Gordon, John Bucchino, Tony Award winning Micheal Rupert, and New York casting director Dace Clemmons are just among the few. The masterclasses have been an extension of what we learn in the classroom on a day to day basis and a really outstanding opportunity for our department to grow. |

| We visited Elon yesterday as our D had her audition there. Very impressed with the campus, the MT program and all of the people we met. Students were all enthusiastic and supportive and the audition process was handled in what I thought was an extremely professional manner even though approximately 45-50 students were auditioning that day. Thanks to CC for giving us the opportunity to discover this gem! I'll be happy to respond to PM's when I return home late Sunday evening. |

I have to agree with you. So far I believe Elon was the most organized. Their audition process ran very smoothly. There beautiful campus is hard to beat. As I mentioned before, My d really likes this school (campus, faculty and current students she met while auditioning)and was very happy that Elon was her first audition. |
