We actually had around 200 audition for Music Theatre and just around 75 for BFA Acting. We were accepting 16 for each program. Please let me know if anyone has any other questions.

Of those 200, would you mind telling us approx. how many were boys/girls? Curious about the percentages. Thanks

Last year we had around 40 boys that auditioned. Of the entire auditioning pool, we accepted around 28 students hoping to get a class of 16 and we actually had 19 pay deposit. Of those 19 we have 10 boys and 9 girls. As our program gets stronger and more well known, we are finding that our yield rate is increasing. This year the number of prospective students from such states as Texas, Louisiana and California has increased drastically! We have also had several inquiries from students in other countries.

I do believe one of them is me! I bet we spoke on the phone, ElonSecretary. I'm the girl living in Korea. I am American though; I'm not even a little Korean (I kind of wish I were - Korean girls are all gorgeous! It ain't fair! )

Confirmations anyone?

Did anyone receive their confirmation for next week's audition yet? I'm hoping we didn't make reservations for nothing!

No one has received a confirmation yet. As stated in the audition materials we do not give confirmation. It states that as long as we receive your materials at least two weeks ahead of time that will be the date you get to audition. You are also told that you will hear from us one week before with your specific rehearsal and audition time. If you do not hear from us one week before you would need to call the office. For those auditioning on October 28th, I will contact them this Friday. Let me know if you have any further questions!

Hi Elonsecretary,

Will it be too late to register to sit in on classes next week? My D signed up online for a couple and did not receive confirmation yet. She wasn't sure what time on Friday she would be able to watch a class, due to not having any times for her audition yet.

Elon is one of the biggest secrets inthe MT college area

Elon has been steadily rising in the eyes of many casting directors and ajents the past five years. It is a great program set on a beautiful campus. The program took a major step just this year when they hired Lynne Kurdziel Formato to join there already impressive faculty. Professor Kurdziel Formato single handedly built the program at SUNY Buffalo over the pasted seven years. Elon was recently named a "best-buy" in US schools - it is. While it is true the college was founded by the Christian Church - it is not a bible thumping place - 70% of the students come from outside North carolina, and the largest religious affiliation, oddly enough, is RC. The campus is a designated botanical garden, there is much individual attention and the training is outstanding.

My former student who is there now as a freshman is impressed with the broadcast journalism program (her minor) as well as MT, which she is majoring in.
Also the campus is billed as the most beautiful in the country.

She got a generous merit scholarship award for MT as well, so there must be a nice fine arts endowment.

Transfers

Hi There,
Thanks for the information regarding audition numbers. Does Elon accept any transfers for Musical Theatre? Any additional information would be great.

Thanks,
Anna
