Any restaurant recommendation near the college for breakfast or dinner?

In the immediate vacinity of the school, most of the eateries are typical chain restaurants...Outback, Longhorn, ect. Mexican is pretty good, LaFiesa near the Burlington Mall.

If you want more "upscale" dining, I'd suggest heading to either Chapel Hill (40 minutes) or Greensboro (1/2 hour) from school. We used to live in Greensboro - some very nice restaurants are The Green Valley Grille (in the O'Henry Hotel), Saffron (delicious Indian), Casaldi's Cafe (very good non-chain Italian owned by a really sweet lady). You can PM me and I'll ask my son who's at Elon. Things have changed quite a bit and he may know of others right near the school. But, our favorite is in Durham near Duke called Chamas (a Brazilian steakhouse) $$$ for dinner but not so bad for lunch.

Breakfast:
Can't really go wrong with IHOP Only place I would ever go.

Dinner:
Maria's Cafe - Italian, family owned
B Christopher's Bistro - American upscale
Red Bull - American, sit down
Vesuvio's - Italian, sit down/take out - best pizza in town IMO. Other stuff is good too.
Sidetracks - American, right next to campus
I have friends that work at the first three and they are excellent.

Red Bowl is a nice Japanese and Chinese restaurant at Alamance Crossing. There's also a Buffalo Wild Wings right there too.
