I was wondering if anyone has recieved merit aid from Elon. My parents don't have alot of money saved so I need try and get a fairly large scholarship in order to be able to afford to go.

My Stats are:

1350/1600
2130/2400
3.76/4gpa
10 honors classes and 5 APs

I have similar SATs and I got $7,500 a year in Merit Aid from Elon - $4,000 Presidential Scholarship & $3,500 Elon College Fellows Scholarship Program. I'm not sure about what you consider a "large" scholarship, but the most you can get from Elon (that I know of, anyway) is $12,500 a year. $4,500 Pres. & $8,000 Honors Fellows.

If you want to settle for another school that may be less reputable, etc. you can likely get far more $. (TCU would likely offer you around $15,000 pa, etc.)

Your stats would probably get you some Presidential money and you might be competitive for Fellows, but srsx3 is right -- Elon is not real generous with merit money.

But TCU (for example) costs about $8000 more than Elon to start with, so the net cost to you may be less at Elon even if Financial aid is less. That is the case with a lot of schools that Elon competes with.
