Elon to airports

I hear that Elon runs a shuttle to the airport (RSU only? or that Piedmont one too?. Is that
only during mass exodus times (Fall Break, T-giving, et cetera)? What about a random weekend in October? How does that work? I'd like her 16 year old sister to visit my freshman, but can't figure out how to get her from airport to campus.

thanks

Bet you will be able to find a student to help - Elon Students are allowed to have cars on campus all 4 years. Both airports are less than an hour away Piedmont (@25 miles) and Raleigh ( @40 miles).

Also you may want to look into a Zip Car membership for your student. You reserve, pick-up and return to Elon, and pay by the hours you need it.

The university only runs the shuttles duing school breaks and at the beginning and end of school I think. It runs shuttles to both Greensboro ($35 roundtrip) and Raleigh ($45 roundtrip). Can't beat the price, airport shuttles run $80 each way. My son used the Zip Car a few times this past year. Well worth the membership and $8/hr rental fee.

Agree with previous posters. Many kids have cars, so my daughter, who is a rising junior, has never had a problem finding a friend (or faculty member, the Music Theater/Dance profs are more like friends honestly) help her get to the airport. She gives them gas money or takes them out to lunch or something to say thanks.
Also the zip car membership is great. She has used it a couple of times to pick her boyfriend up at the airport or to run errands. Often she and one of her friends will split the cost, and run errands together. Well worth the membership fee.
