Where do your kids go to the doctor?

Just curious do your kids(or yourself-if you're a student) use the health center? If not where do they go? My daughter is a sophmore and has been to the health center and also to Alamance Family Practice. She said neither is very good. At AFP she went in with a sore throat, swollen glands and all they did was give her an Rx didn't test her for strep or anything. They said "oh you probably have strep."

Elon Health Center

My son is a sophomore at Elon as well and he too has used the Health Center on campus. In April he was not feeling well with sore throat and fever. He went to the Health Center and had a very thorough exam. They tested him for strep, negative. He had a bad case of the flu (thank god, not swine!). The doctor wrote him prescriptions, had them brought to the health center whilemy son waited. They confined him to his room for 3 days and released him on a follow-up visit. They also called him to find out how he was feeling. I'm impressed. We don't get that care at home.

Daughter is just starting her junior year. She has used the health center numerous times and had good results. She is prone to sinus infections and we decided to be proactive when she started at Elon, had her doctor from home contact the health center about her situation, they have a note in her file, and when she has had sinus infections at Elon she goes to the health center and they have treated her appropriately per her home doctor's recommendations, without making her feel like she is a problem (we've experienced that attitude at other places).
Last spring, she became VERY ill with a stomach bug, vomiting for days, and when I persuaded her that it was time to go to the health center about it, they were great. Immediately put her on IV fluids for dehydration, right there in the health center, gave her anti-nausea meds both IV and pills for use in her dorm, made her call a friend to drive her back to her dorm so she wouldn't have to walk and wouldn't be alone, followed up with her the next day to see how she was doing. Really very professional.
She has not used the health center for her gynecology care. Is very pleased with Westside Gynecology group in Burlington.

If I were sick I'd probably head down to the health center for convenience's sake. I really hope I don't get sick...

My daughter has used an urgent care clinic in town if the health center doesn't work. She now uses a headache clinic in Greensboro for migraines.
