Impressions of Emerson

Anybody else visit Emerson and find it odd that the tour seems to hide more things from you than it shows? My tour mostly consisted of walking up and down stairs, climbing off and on elevators, and having our student host tell us what a great school it was.
When we asked to see somebody from the MT department, they said they would give my email address to an MT student.
The thing is, Emerson is expensive. And it has a reputation for not giving much (if any) merit aid.
All in all, it seemed to me like a big trade school, with lots of state of the art equipment (judging from photos, because of course they didn't let us see much of it) and students who aren't very interested in a real liberal arts core curriculum.
If my impressions were wrong, please enlighten me. Especially about the no-merit-aid thing.

I am so glad you think so too.
My mom and I took a tour there in February, after I auditioned! My mom had always loved the school from what she had heard and seen on the website and such and I loved the audition, everyone was so nice. Then I took the tour and it seemed so superficial and I completely agree with everything you said! I had no interest in going there whatsoever after I took the tour.
