Those of you who have gone on a tour...

betterday55's post in one of the threads got me thinking. If you've been on a campus tour of Emory with a student guide, was it a good/helpful experience? Are you still friends with your tour guide?

We are awesome.

(I'm a tour guide).

And I totally won't be offended if you have critism/negative experiences written here.

Why would we be friends with the tour guide? They don't ask your name and the group is so large. I mean, he was nice enough, but not THAT nice!

The tour I went on was nice, but I felt bad because I knew more about the school than the tour guide. I think at one point she was a bit annoyed... I didn't go on it because I needed to know more information about Emory, rather I just wanted to "show interest".

There is no question that the best thing about Emory is how much money the school has.

So how do an Emory student become a tour guide?

There was already a meeting yesterday, but if you're interested LL Jean Erickson. :-)
I'm a tour guide too, and I kind of wanted to make sure there aren't urban legends circulating about a crazy Emory tour guide who makes her tour groups on Saturday mornings do jumping jacks to wake up. ;-)

Actually, my tour group was extremely small. I think there were like 4 people in it.

Ya...the number of people on the tour can differ drastically day to day. Sometimes I'll have about 20 people on it, but I've also given tours with just 1 or 2 families.

Are freshmen allowed to be tour guides? And can you pick what days and time you want to be a guide?
