Devastated

I"m in tears. I don't think I can go to Emory b/c they didn't give me enough money, which means I have to do pre-med track at Ga Tech...

If I take loans, by the time a graduate, I will be 80-100 thousand dollars in debt...is Emory worth that much debt for undergrad?

Did you get a good financial aid package at Georgia Tech? if yes, why not take the GA Tech financial aid package to Emory and try to negotiate for them to come up to the GA Tech financial aid amount? Might worth it. Also, GA Tech is a great school and you can feel fantastic for getting accepted to GA Tech.

OP, I hope you're still around. I de-lurked specifically to post here and (hopefully) reassure you. I'm an Emory grad, currently a second year in medical school. I loved my time at Emory, but if you're pretty sure that med school is in your future, I'd advise you to go to Tech. It's a very good school, and financially, it seems like the better option for you. The smaller your debt load when starting med school, the better. I have classmates now who went to Tech and are thriving in med school. And hey, you can always apply to Emory Med.

If you have any more questions, let me know.
