The Clairmont Campus

This is the most amazing on-campus living space I have ever seen. How does one acquire the opportunity to live in this magnificent place?

it's on-campus housing for upperclassmen (seniors, juniors, and even some sophomores). you don't have to do anything special to live on Clairmont but it is awesome.

But there's only a limited amount of spaces available there. So how does the housing committee determine who gets to live there? When I was touring Emory, my tour guide said the top scholars and athletes get the first spots available at Clairmont. Have you heard anything about this?

scholars usually get first bidding time for housing but they pull in their roommates who are usually not scholars (plus there are not many scholars so it doesn't matter much). I'm pretty sure athletes don't get a better time (my freshman roommate was a basketball player and he didn't receive preference). Everyone gets a random bidding time for housing and you can pick from what's available. it's not that tough to get into clairmont.

When you say scholars are you referring to the people who are specifically part of the Emory Scholars Program, or just the top-achieving students?

So if you're an Emory Scholar, you're basically guaranteed a spot at the Clairmont Campus is you want it?

So I can't edit, but I hear it is somewhat far from the campus.

it's not far. there are shuttles that run from it every few minutes and it takes about five-ten minutes to get to the middle of campus (this is only because of the stops it makes). you could walk from clairmont to main campus. it does have the ability though to feel like you are off campus but it is much more convenient than actually doing so.
