Emory/Oxford general information

If I am being nominated for the scholars program for emory, how much of an advantage do i have in actually getting into Emory?

I am applying ED for emory. The thing is that my GPA and SAT scores arent that great. I find them to be mediocre actually.

Another Question i have is if they have something like the emory scholars at Oxford.

Thanks in advance!!!

Emory Scholars do not have an explicit advantage in getting accepted into Emory. HOWEVER, since Emory Scholar Nominees are usually the top students from their schools, it would make sense to say that the acceptance rate for scholars is higher than the general population.

Acceptance to Emory is very competitive so if you don't think your scores are competitive (use this link to estimate Class Profile) then shine in your essay, extracurricular act., and recommendations. And Hope for the best!

Yes They Do! First of All, do yourself a huge favor and apply to both Emory & Oxford. (Same application, no extra cost) Oxford is substantially easier to get into and you will transfer to automatically Emory after two years. Oxford students get the same resources as Emory students (you can join the same teams, clubs program etc.)

Oxford's Scholars (Oxford College - Oxford Scholars)

Scholars get a lot of benefits (full scholarship, priority housing & registration, stipends etc.)
Also, check out the Bonner's Program for even more aid.

I read a bit on the oxford college scholar program, how does that work. on the website it says that we do not have to be nominated. how can i nominate myself?

Would it still be possible to do that if i have been nominated for the emory scholars. I think i have a better shot at the oxford one.

Thanks!
