PetE!

I really want to go into Petroleum engineering now but I've heard so many different stories on it and I don't know what or who to trust. Some say the job opportunities are decreasing dramatically whereas others say the future prospects look great! Yes I know there are TONS of threads about this but, again, I've heard so many opposing views that I don't know who to listen to. Please help!

You're going to find the same answers here that were said in the past. Just go look. There's like 20 threads dedicated to this one topic.

Honestly, it is a gamble. The oil and gas industry is very volatile and unpredictable (just like finding oil itself). It is like rolling the dice.
