i am Egyptian-American , i lived almost all my life in egypt , but because college education here is not so good .. i want to go apply for college in USA . the problem is my scores.
I had 1680 SAT. 800 maths Sat 2 , 750 biology sat 2 . ill get a high GPA 3.9 i guess . iwant to go aerospace engineering major. with score of 1680 only -.-' is it possible ? and i want to send only 1 of my scores to college.... i don't want them to know how many times i took the SAT :< is it possible ? do i have a chance to get in a college in USA ? -I ONLY WANT TO SEND 1 TRIAL SCORES OF MY SAT I DON'T WANT COLLEGE TO KNOW HOW MANY TIMES I ENTERED!- and which colleges can accept me ? also my school was out side the US. will ineed extra tests to take before college?

Yep, we're probably not the best people to handle this. Test scores generally aren't the best way of determining admissions anyways, even when they're in your native language.

Just to start though, I'm assuming they'll tell you something about the TOEFL over on the International board, so you may want to start reading about it.

If you are a citizen of the United States, the situation for applying to universities in the United States is different from that of an international student -- i.e. generally favorable for admissions and financial aid, although you will not have state residency in any state (which brings additional advantages in cost and financial aid at public universities in that state).

You can use Accredited Program Search to find aerospace engineering degree programs. But many also work in aerospace after graduating in mechanical or electrical engineering.

I believe that you can select which test scores to submit with your application. You may also have to take an English language test if you have lived outside the US. Just check the admission requirements for the schools you are applying to and email an admission counselor if necessary.

For Engineering, your Math SAT 1 score is the most important and you have not mentioned it but you have done well on the Math SAT 2 test so my guess is that you are OK there.

Unless something has changed since I had to do it 8 years ago, the schools see all of your SAT scores that you have earned, not just the ones you choose. Whether or not they care is another story. Maybe things are different now though, I don't know.

I think they still see all of them. At least that's what the information on my student account shows, even though I didn't choose to send both times I took the SAT/SAT II last year. I think they just disregard the lower score, though.

That depends on the school. Some schools disregard all but the highest and some take all into account. I know UIUC at least used to only consider the highest, for example, and Stanford looked at all of them.

ETS has instituted what they call "Score Choice" which allows students to send only scores from a specific test date if they like. All scores from that date sill be reported though. This is a relatively new policy that holds also for GRE scores.

It may still be in the student's best interest to send all scores if the school takes the best section scores to build a composite score.
