I am currently enrolled in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Johns Hopkins and am wondering whether this major is significantly different from, say, a Biology major with a Chemistry minor. I am considering transferring so I am looking at schools with strong engineering and if they don't have ChemBE I would like to be able to take a major that is in most ways comparable to it. I would like to get a more broad education rather than a specifically chemical or biological one. Any advice would be great!

While there may be some similarities, chemistry and biology have worse job and career prospects than chemical engineering.

Those are two very different majors. Basically it's engineering vs. science. It seems that Biochemical Engineering and etc. is essentially chemical engineering with a bit of bio added in. (Say bio reactors, enzymes, etc.)

If you can tell us more of what you're looking for it would be helpful. I believe that Maryland has a ChemBE program.

I think I'd rather be in a program that has more of an engineering aspect, because I do enjoy understanding physics and how it can explain everything. I'm also good at math and chemistry is coming along just fine. Basically I'd like a solid background knowledge in all of chemistry, physics, and biology haha which is a bit of a stretch but that's what I'd like so I can find what I want. I would just like to know if there are any comparable majors that could give me that kind of major.
