Electric Circuits Book Recommendations?

Looking for an intro book that's self explanatory that my son can read on his own.

Forgot to add that son will be HS senior in fall and has taken AP Physics B. Any good textbooks out there?

My circuits class last semester used The Art of Electronics by Horowitz and Hill. I found it to be understandable and complete. It might be a little too advanced for someone who hasn't had much exposure to calculus to read on his own, however.

1.) http://www.amazon.com/Basic-Engineer.../dp/0471407402

This text is a pretty good introduction. Easy to follow, intended for non-EE majors, but as a high school student, I think it's a good text to get the basics down.

2.) http://www.amazon.com/Fundamentals-E...4456728&sr=1-2

Good, goes into more topics and details than book 1, but pricey. I'd recommend the first book.

American Amateur Radio League (AARL)

Well written books that have gone thru many editions but the information is improved. Reasonable cost.
