MEng benefits?

what are the main benefits of choosing to attend graduate school after completing a bachelor's in engineering (specfically civil engineering - structura) would it be beneficial to ones career to obtain a graduate degree? I plan on attending gradute school after my bachelors but im wondering if itll be a waste of time or if there are any substantial benefits to it?

If you plan on doing structural engineering as a career, it will be very very helpful in getting that job. If you don't believe me, just ask recruiters from structural engineering firms when your career fair comes around. One company I spoke with won't even hire a structural engineering without a master's degree, which I totally understand. Most college programs don't go into structure in depth enough for you to be successful in this field.

If you're doing a different field in civil engineering, then the value of the grad degree is debatable.
