How much programming is required in comp eng?

How much programming is required in Computer Engineering at the following schools: UMich, UIUC, Illinois, Purdue

I ask because programming isn't one of my strongest strengths (recently dropped AP Comp Sci AB because I was getting a C+). Will someone who is weak in computer programming face much difficulty in Comp Eng?

Thanks

I think UIUC only requires 1 programming class (can't say for sure because I am not a CompE major).

Computer Engineering Core

4 ECE 110 - Introduction to Electrical & Computer Engineering
4 ECE 190 - Intro to Computing Systems
4 ECE 210 - Analog Signal Processing
3 ECE 290 - Computer Engineering I
3 ECE 329 - Introduction to Electromagnetic Fields
2 ECE 385 - Digital Systems Laboratory
3 ECE 391 - Computer Systems Engineering
4 ECE 411 - Computer Organization & Design
3 ECE 440 - Solid State Electronic Devices
4 CS 225 - Data Structure & Software Principles

I also heard ECE 190 and 290 require programming skills (not sure if its a programming oriented class however).

Data Structures will kill you, in terms of difficultiness if you can't handle AP Comp Sci. If you want to be a computer engineer, why don't you try hard especially in this one course?

I have friends in the same position as you, and quite honestly I find it annoying. Everyone can program. You just need the proper steps to get there. Sit down, do it over the summer, over the winter break, whenever, just do it! There are many strong books that can help you.

Look for books like "learn c++ in 48 hours" or "c++: over the weekend" or "idiot's guide to c++" or "c++ for dummies". Otherwise, look online. Failing that, send me some money and I'll give you a correspondence course in it. Programming's not hard at all if you like math.
