Ive read a couple of times on this forum that its not wise to pursue AE as BS.
Rather ppl suggested Mechanical Eng. for BS and then move to AE for MS.

im into aerospace engineering. wondering whether i should do AE for BS/MS/PHD or ME BS-> AEMS/PhD

im still HS junior. Please help. =D

Either are valid, really. I even know of electrical engineers and structural engineers that have gone into aerospace engineering. You just want a good strong basis in one of the four (mech, structures, elec, or aero) and then it's probably best to decide where to go from there. Pick a school that you like and see which of its programs is more appealing to you.

The first year (or two) of college for ME and AE are pretty similar most places. I would wait until you get to college and then decide- by then, you'll know enough to make an informed decision.

Why is it not wise to pursue AE as BS? I am in the AE program for a BS degree and I see nothing wrong with it so far.

Never said it was unwise... It's just that the mechanical engineering degree's a bit more flexible. You can get a lot of different jobs in different fields, including the aerospace industry, with a mechanical engineering degree. If you go for an aerospace degree, you're a bit more limited in your options (though you could probably talk your way into any job you're qualified for).

If you're certain you want to do aerospace engineering, there's nothing wrong about getting an aerospace engineering degree, though.
