I want to major in electrical or computer engineering. Anyway about an hour ago, when I was pretty sure I would be rejected or waitlisted at cornell, I was dead sure I was going to gatech next fall as I was on the plane back from an overnight there and I had a great time/really like it. Anyway got back, checked cornell decision, got a *** look across my face, read it a few more times to let my acceptance sink in. Anyway so what are your thoughts. Heres a general list of some of the ups and downs of each

gerogia tech is cheaper, warmer, and ranked higher in my major/engineering in generl, in a city, whereas cornell is in the middle of nowhere and crazy cold, I'm probably higher up in the admittied student pool than cornell, also may be less cutthroat than cornell(don't actually know how cutthroat cornell is or isn't), I had a great time on the overnight

cornell is closer(live in MA), two of my friends may be going to cornell, and cornell has a 1:1 male to female raito while gtech 3:1, its cornell, far superior to gatech in everything that isn't engineering, ivy league status, more wellknown and probably more prestigious in northeast(gatech is more wellknown/prestigious in southeast though) gatech is crazy rigorous(even moreso than cornel), gatech might take 9-10 semesters,

also I kinda told cornell I would 100% attend if admitted(I did apply ED, was deferred, told them this in my letter updating them of some new achievements), this was true at the time, but I hadn't really even considered gtech a ton at that point besides that I would apply there. As the decision got closer I was pretty sure I was going to be rejected so I started to get excited about schools that had already accepted me, namely as gatech/the overnight was awesome/my sureness of going to gatech an hour ago makes me not want to just 100% accept the cornell admittance without fully thinking about both options

honestly I have no clue which I'm going to choose right now, what does cc think?

It looks like you've done your research. Unfortunately only you can make a decision off that.

Personally, if money is not an issue and you don't mind lots and lots of snow, I would go to Cornell for the broader undergrad experience. However if you are a techie, the GT atmosphere may suit you better. While the city life is interesting, Cornell is close enough to New York that entertainers will find their way up there. Also, Atlanta isn't exactly Silicon Valley, so there is no significant job placement advantage here than in Cornell. Again, it's all down to personal preference, and you've already got the facts laid out before you.

what is all of this 1 hr ago, i had an epiphany nonsense? Let your emotions settle, then do some more research on the schools. Its for you to decide not CC.

I didn't say anything about an epiphany, just said that I had not been expecting to get into cornell and thus had been sure I was going to gatech, and then I got into cornell so that changed, I was just commenting how very quickly things changed. Also I'm not having cc make my decision, I'm just curious about peoples general opinions of the two schools, most likely cc will not effect my final decision.
