Industrial Engineering + Economics major

In the university that i will be attending has a double major of Industrial Engineering and Economics, is that a good combo to go for? I heard that a lot of economics majors become Investment Bankers. Will this joint degree be too hard and is it a good combination since Economics is business/social science like?

Thanks
Eric

out of curiosity, which school do you go to? I'd probably do it if I were you but thats because I'm interested in economics. I wish my school had it.

I'd do it, and I don't know what "too hard" means. It will require you to work, that's for sure, but I can see a lot of over lap and if you are good at math the economics shouldn't be too hard, just time consuming.

If you want to go into Investment Banking or any Financial consulting--that degree combo sounds great!

The Industrial Engineering BS degree combined with Economics takes 5 years to complete at SUNY Buffalo, is that amount of time worth it for a Bachelors degree?

Northwestern has this but it is a four year program. The benefit is that it is good for both majors.

Im pretty sure at Penn you can do joint engineering and Wharton. Of course, if you dont want to be an engineer then Wharton is more than good enough on its own to do investment banking.
