Failing a class more than once

Is failing a class more than once unforgivable for an engineering major? Last semester was rough for me I was taking too many classes and I was out socializing too much and I failed it because I sometimes cut class.

Now, I'm taking it again over the summer and I'm getting 82s on the exams. Unfortunately, (lame reason but it really is hard to get over) my boyfriend broke up with me and I think I screwed up on the final today because I was so stressed and upset and depressed over the weekend that I came in today with lack of sleep and I've forgotten my formulas and everything.

Would it look really bad if I took the class again for a third time?

I think it's too late I might try to ask for an INC. I don't know.

I tried talking to my professor before she dismissed everything and she said I was going okay on the exams, so maybe she'll take that into consideration. I hope.

It isn't unforgivable as long as your university doesn't have a policy against it. I know many people who are on going to be on their third go-around for dynamics.

It's obviously not ideal, but it should be Ok, especially if its an upper year course. I know I guy who has a great job now but had to take PDE's 4 times. I also know I guy in my program who is taking his third swing at Introduction to chemical engineering.

It's calculus II I asked my advisor and she had I have to talk to the department head.

I only have one questions now:

Is it better to get an F, D, and then whatever grade I get next time or an F, F, and whatever grade I get next time. The grade I get in the course replaces only one of the F (if I get an F). So, should I just stick with the F or just D?
