I want to major in CSE from UIUC.

I am an Indian Student with CBSE Board completion certificate. I secured 73% in my board exams which are equal to APs. I have an SAT score of 580 in CR 660 in Math and 570 in Writing(62 in MC and 7 in Essay).

I am interested in doing research in Operating Systems so I wish to do a CSE from UIUC. Any tips you like to give me to make sure I get in?
I am planning to apply to Purdue; I am trying my luck at Stanford and USC(with better scores expected to come this December).

Any tips from Alumni or already studying student to get admissions in these univs will be like a gospel to me. :|

Thanking you
Bharadwaj

You might contact the Indian student organization(s) at your target schools for some advice. Good luck!

Treetopleaf, Thankyou! I tried it...I am looking for your views...consider me as an International student and give me some advice...

Also please take a look at this post and let me know if you can help me out in this too.
What does my letter from Dean say(rejected/reappeal)?

Thank you once again

I could be wrong, but a 660 Math seems low for UIUC. I'd really try to find a few less competitive schools than UIUC if studying in the US is your goal.
