Study Abroad In Engineering

Has anyone here studied abroad or know someone who has? I'm looking for some suggestions on when to go/where to go etc..... Trying to figure out how I would fit study abroad into my schedule along with co-op.

English only? Outside North America, I think that limits it to the UK (Scotland, England), Australia, Singapore, or Hong Kong, right? Do you want the names of colleges?

I studied in hong kong, as an engineer, at the HK university of science and technology. PM me if you want more info. It was a great experience overall and I highly recommend studying abroad, as difficult as it is being an engineer.

My school has partner programs with a university in Brussels, Belgium. They send students there along with professors who teach engineering classes there in the summer in English. The classes they teach can usually be counted as electives, and are usually design/management type classes that are appropriate to be taught abroad. So go and speak to your schools study abroad office and ask them specifically if they have anything like this.

maybe to study abroad to develop your skill in a foreign language, such as German or Japanese?

There are many schools that have study abroad programs for engineers. You should discuss this with your Study Abroad office at your particular school; you are not the first engineering student to have these questions.
