BC is my number one school, and I'm terrified that I'll be deferred (since only 20% of deferred applicants ultimately get in) or rejected...the reason I applied EA is because it's my top choice and I don't think I can wait till the spring for a decision without going insane :)

Here are my stats...chance me for EA please :)

About Me:
-Female, Caucasian, Catholic, IL
-Catholic high school in Chicago suburbs, last year BC accepted 8 of the 12 kids who applied from my school. (Don't know if they applied EA or RD)
-Applying to the Connell School of Nursing

Academics:
-Weighted GPA over 3 years (excluding senior year): 99.34%; self calculated to be 4.2 weighted average.
-Unweighted GPA over these same 3 years: 3.78
-School does not rank but I know I am in at least the top 10% because of my spot on the highest honor roll (23-25 kids on this, 270-280 kids in my class)
-APs: Calc AB, Bio, English Lit, English Language (4) [Note: the school doesn't offer nearly as many APs as I'd like it to]
-All honors courses whenever possible with the exception of history

Awards:
NHS, Principal's Honor Roll (99% and up) sophomore and junior years, High honors (93% and up) freshman year, Italian NHS, Italian Achievement Award (a department award) junior year, published poet

Test Scores:
ACT w/writing Composite 31 (35-28-33-26-10)

Principal ECs:
-Hospital Volunteer (my main activity which I loved, knee injury ended this experience for me, explained in my essay)
-Cancer support organization volunteer (my new activity)
-Italian Club President
-Flute (I play on my own, but I was trained as a child)
-NHS, working on the Induction Committee in the spring
-Park district softball
-At least 130 service hours by the time I graduate

Essays:
I am in love with my essay, as is my best friend who is applying to schools of a higher caliber than I am. It relates my knee injury to my passion in nursing, basically.
I also added a little supplemental essay of my own in the additional info section about why I love Boston and how I would stand out at BC (because BC does not have a supplemental essay of its own).

Thank you so much :)

Financial Aid

Our EFC will probably be 35000. How likely is it that BC will meet our needs and will that aid be mostly loans?
This school a reach for my son anyway, and I am thinking is the aid is more than $5000 in loans a year it will not be worth applying.

Lynch School of Education

Basics:
Female from New York City. I go to one of those specialized high schools that you have to take a test to get in. It's ranked third out of eight schools in total. The school is very very very VERY small and very competitive. Less than 100 kids in my graduating class of 2010
It's a science school but I'm not planning on majoring in anything science related in college.

Stats:
GPA: low around 87.00%
SAT (first time): CR-690 M-710 W-710 (12 Essay)
SAT II:
Biology: 660 US History: 670

Courseload
ALL CLASSES HONORS OR AP: downward trend but the course load increases significantly and becomes more difficult each year.
AP Bio and AP US - 4 and 3 (which is good compared to how i did in the class)
Currently taking AP Environmental Science and AP Literature.

ECs
-Part of the Student Senate for the March of Dimes (very well known, national charity organization)
-Key Club (all four years of high school)
-Volunteered at a daycare (Went every school break i had)
----last summer, worked as a teachers assistant at daycare, it was what made me decide that i wanted to be a teacher. wrote a heartfelt statement about it on my common app.
-Volunteered at a nursing home (two years of high school)
-Math Team (three years of high school)
-School Orchestra (for two years, demanding school work made it hard to take orchestra)
-Play the piano, violin, flute, guitar
-Varsity Tennis (for three years)
-Took a Chemistry and Adv Algebra College Course at City College of New York in summer after freshman year. - didnt do very well but it was challenging and learned a lot. put that on my common app too
-Took an Architecture Course for 6 credits at City College of New York in summer after -sophmore year. (Yeah, really random but i was exploring possible career choices and shows my big interest in art. although i like art i have no intention of pursuing it as a career option)- Got an A.

I'm applying RD.
So I realize that Boston College will be a reach for me. But I was wondering if applying to the school of education will help me in anyway. I want to know if its less competitive to get into or harder to get into.
I've made it very clear and made it obvious that I had a strong interest in education

I'm a freshman here. So I wasn't doing too great in my chem class so I withdrew a few weeks ago. Now I know I wasn't doing too well in my Calculus class either so I inquire and find that I'm failing and the teacher recommends withdrawal.

Can I withdraw from two classes in the same semester? Do I just take the F? What are the consequences of the two actions?

I already have a deficiency because I withdrew from the Chem and now I might have to withdraw from Calc!

I just had a really rough start and now things have come crashing down on me. Will I get kicked out of school for this (my worst fear) or will I be okay if I keep things good next semester?
