Is Purdue worth it for non-science or math based majors?

Don't get me wrong, I am well aware of the school's prestige when it comes to engineering; however, there is no way I'd be majoring in it or any related fields. I'm more interested in a liberal arts-type major (but i DON'T want to attend a small liberal arts college). I visited the campus last year and I absolutely LOVED everything about it, so I still am having a hard time deciding whether to apply or not.

Ok, so I'm currently a freshman at community college and I want to leave this place as soon as possible so I applied for SPRING 2010 transfer to Purdue ENGINEERING. I know it's a stretch but please let me know what you all think of my chances. It's my no.1 choice.
STATS:
HS GPA: 3.0 took several APs, AP scholar. Very competitive high school in Michigan.
ACT: 31 (35 math,30 E, 30 R, 28 S)
SAT: 2120 first sitting ( 800 M, 680 CR, 640 W)
SAT II: 800 on Math2, 720 Chem
english is my second language, so maybe low writing/ reading scores will be offset??
EC's are nothing spectacular, especially when compared to others on CC.
college sem1 GPA will be near 4.0 but will they even care???
Thanks so much for your help!!

On-Campus Food At Purdue

I know this might sound really stupid, but one of the bigger factors for me in determining the college I will ultimately go to, is the on-campus food. It's just that I'm so stuck between a lot of schools, so I have to look beyond just the academics and athletics, etc.

ANYWAYS Princeton Review had Purdue's on-campus food #19 in the country!!!!
I am very very impressed, and I would like a student's point of view of how the food is?
Is there a wide variety? or is it in a small variety but everything is really good?
Is it the same schedule every week? or do they mix it up?
Just... what are your opinions on the food????
=D

Hey, I'm applying as an international student planning to major in Psychology.
I go to and international school in beijing.
My SAT score is 2040 (CR=680, M= 710, W=650)
My Toefl ibt score is 114
My accumulated GPA is 2.84 UW. Weighted is around 3.3.
I take the Full IB Diploma: IB English A1 HL, Psychology HL, Biology HL, Math SL, Physics SL, Spanish ab initio SL.
ECs:
HS Musicals (4 years)
HS Plays (3 years)
APAC Dance Team (1 year)
Editor of Literary Magazine (3 years)
Track team (1 year)

My GPA is really low because i had a really bad start to highschool, and was messing around the first two years. My GPA has been improving quite a bit, but it remains very low due to how horrible it was back in freshman year. I know my test scores are at least decent, but are they good enough to balance out my bad GPA?

I'm just wondering.

I saw in another post on a current thread the stats for many E-students there from HS, and they weren't particularly jaw-dropping. Yet, Purdue still seems to churn out excellent engineers, according to USNWR and other sources, even more reputable than engineers from higher student stat schools.

So, how does this happen? Please explain the magic.
