Is anyone 100% CERTAIN that A&M RECONSIDERS apps after this semester?

By reconsider I mean reviewing an applicants application after they have already been denied, and they still want to attend and send in their CURRENT semester grades?

I was declined for Spring 2010, but am almost certain my current Fall 2009 grades would get me in.

But is anyone 100% CERTAIN, without a doubt, that they will?

Math 151 vs 171?

I am a freshman at texas A&M and am planning on switching to a biochemistry major. They require me to take math 151, 152, and 251, yet have alternatives of math 171, 172 and 221, respectively. I've heard mixed messages on the differences between the different maths. As I'll take math 151 or 171 first, differences I've found between the two is MATLAB in 151. It seems to make sense that 171 would be the way to go as to avoid MATLAB since they're both of equal credit and count toward the major. However, it seems odd that math 151 is the course suggested to take, as its calculus for engineering majors.

The biochemistry advisor said math 171 includes more proofs and deriving of math concepts, yet I've heard different from students in the class.

As I'm encouraged to start taking my maths as soon as possible, I'd appreciate any insight.

ACT No Writing

I have taken the ACT three times. I took it two years ago with writing and got a 29. I took it last June without writing because I had a dance recital, and I got a 33. I took it again several weeks ago with writing, but I was testing as a standby because I thought I was busy that weekend, and when I realized I wasn't, registration had closed. I don't think that test score will come in time for my December 1st applications, since I didn't indicate those schools when I took the test.

I looked on the Texas A & M website, and they say, "The highest test score with writing component from one test date will be used. (All test scores must contain scores from the writing component.)" The impression I got from Purdue was that as long as I had one score with writing, I could send in more score even without writing. I didn't consider that some schools might not accept that. Does the quote above mean there is no point in sending in my 33?
