short essays problem

II. REQUIRED SHORT ESSAYS (200 words)
1. There is a Quaker saying: “Let your life speak.” Describe the environment in which you were raised—your family, home, neighborhood or community—and how it influenced the person you are today.

2. Self-identity and personal expression take many forms. Use the richness of your life to give us insight: Who are you?

I am little confused, aren't these two essays very similar?

Sat II Score Choice Question

I apologize if this question has been beaten to death but do I have to submit all of my SAT II scores? I took them in October and got a 780 in Math II, 640 US History, and a 610 in Literature. I just took the Literature one to see how I'd do. I'm not interested in having that actually submitted. I have taken the SAT IIs before for a couple other subjects.

I know Tufts requires all SAT scores to be sent. Does this apply to SAT IIs as well? There are some SAT II scores that I just wouldn't like submitted. I hear they only look at the top two?

I've already filled out the test section of my Common App. I only filled in two SAT subject tests. Do I have to send my scores via the College Board as well?

I'd appreciate it if anyone can clarify the situation for me,

Thanks,
Supasing

my chances of getting in?

I'm a white Jewish female from the Philadelphia area. I attend a public high school, have taken 5 AP classes, and have taken mostly honors/AP all of high school except for some maths and sciences. Because i'm not very good at math and had some bad teachers, my GPA is a 3.2 unweighted(but i hear most colleges re-weigh them? so it should go up). In top 25% of my class. My highest scores on the SAT were 660 math, 700 reading, 740 writing. I don't do a ton of extracurriculars but I'm involved/have been involved in a few things. This is my list of schools I'm looking at, please let me know if you know any specifics about their admissions and how good of a chance you think I have of getting in.

I love my friends and some of my classes...but the rest of the environment (the deans, half of the professors) seem to enjoy making life difficult. At the moment I have just almost recovered from a serious illness that caused me to miss more than 3 weeks of class. Regardless of my doctor and hospital notes, one of my classes will not allow me to make up the test, and the teacher says that I should just withdraw instead of trying to do the rest of the work, since there is a policy for no extensions and no make up exams, regardless of the circumstances. My dean said I should just accept a W on my transcript and move on.

Is it different anywhere else, or does college just suck with these things in general? Or am I completely overreacting? It's possible since my head is still cloudy. I'm just wondering if there is any place where they actually try to help students through difficulties, rather than encouraging them to quit.

Honestly, I feel like this would be a great place if I were perfect, and nothing bad ever happened...but I couldn't forsee getting so sick. I don't understand why they allow freshman to drop this class for another 2 weeks without consequences, but they can't make that allowance for someone who was so sick and had no other options.
