For those who are of the mindset that Virginia Tech is mainly an engineering school, I thought I would post the link from Virginia Tech's website that celebrates the #1 ranking for its undergraduate Landscape Architecture program by Design Intelligence for the year 2010. The architecture program was ranked 4th this year. For graduate programs, VT ranks 2nd in Landscape Architecture and 8th in Architecture. Here are the top 5 undergrad programs from DI for 2010:

1. VT
2. LSU
3. Kansas State
4. UGA
5. PSU

Here is the link with more information:

VT · school of architecture + design · a+d · school programs ranked highly in annual design intelligence rankings: landscape architecture ranked #1 (http://archdesign.vt.edu/news/2009-10/886)

Can I be a major in Human Development and still get into Medical School?

Hey guys I am a junior in high school so I will soon be starting the process of college admissions. My goal is to become a pediatrician, but I was wondering, if taking Human Development as my Major in the College of Liberal Arts, could hurt my chances for med school because I took a non science major. The thing is I really like Human Development and feel I can excel in it compared to other majors..

Any advice would be greatly appreciated..

does a D in calc screw engineering chances?

im taking ap calc ab and for the first quarter i got a D. i'm sure I'll improve (I better. if not im gonna be ****ed) but in the event i dont i want to know if VT is out of my reach. does a D screw my hopes of getting into VT for engineering? How bout a C? yall will probably ask what other stats i got so here we go: 1360 SAT, 3.7 unweighted GPA (and ive always taken honors/AP classes so its a harder curriculum), eagle scout, NHS, varsity tennis captain, Mu-Alpha-Theta. So, OK or screwed with a D?

Will VT look at act sub-scores???

So i took the act twice and the first time i got a composite of a 27- with a 32 in math, 29 in science, 22 reading, and a 26 in english.
the second time i got a composite of a 28- with a 28 in math, 27 in science, 28 in reading, and a 27 in english. I was disapointed on how my math and science went down so much. So i was wondering if they will look at the subscores for both test ( i sent in both) because i scored so much higher in math and science the first time which might help me even more for engineering. I believe i recall when i visited they said the would look at the subscores and take the best but iam not sure and am looking for any conformation.
Does any body know if they will look at both of them, or if the 32 in math will help me?
