Hello,

Recently, I've had a chance to look through the works of Colombia+Barnard Undergraduate students from their ONSite Publication. The program seems to possess strong quality from the GSAPP in integrating both Design aspect + Research & Theory (my strong interest).
My studio teacher graduated from Columbia and highly recommended me to try applying for transfer. I'll also be visiting the studio this early December.

Can anyone share perspectives about the program as well as advices for transferring, etc?

I'm now in my second year of college and will be transferring the coming fall.
I'm quite interested in architecture and problem is while I am good at designing, I'm not very good at math and physics, is architecture still an option for me? if so, is there any schools that you guys would recommend? I don't have a very high GPA due to my physics and math grades..so I know that I probably shouldn't apply to the very top schools. I think it might be better if I apply to schools that put more weight on portfolios and designing abilities. Also, I'm mostly looking for schools that have a smaller class size and good faculties. Since I;m an international student, the location of the school doesn't really matters. Thanks a lot.

Portfolio presentation

Hi guys,

I'm in the process of putting together portfolios for several b.arch programs. These are traditional (not electronic) portfolios that are to be mailed to the schools. I know that I need to put photographs of my work in a presentation binder... but should I design the layout (i.e. put a border around the actual work and leave a space for brief description/comment) or should I fill the whole page with the work and label it on the back? I've heard that presentation really matters for these portfolios... which seems more professional?

Thanks for the help!

Hey---

Just want to know what are some good architecture schools in the midwest. (I live in MN, so preferrably closer to there).
Also, are these schools good? Because they're on my list at the moment, and I'm not sure how good the architecture programs are...

Notre Dame
ISU
University of Cincinnati
University of MN - Twin Cities
University of Nebraska - Lincoln
