ED 1 Questions

1. My D applied ED1 and just received the secret handshake for ISIS to check her app status. ISIS says everything is there for her app except the 2 teacher letters. D thinks these letters were sent to MHC weeks ago. Does it take time to match earlier received papers with the electronic files? For similarly situated prospies (and aged P's of prospies), are your teacher letters associated with your file yet?

2. Are ED1 decisions all mailed out on one day, or are they mailed out on a rolling basis once the decision making process has been completed for that app? I ask because the admissions dean said that ED1 decisions would go out about 4 weeks after receipt, and that MHC was closed from mid-Dec to Jan 1, so nothing will go out on Jan. 1, the "official" date of notification, per the web site.

Do interviews matter a lot at MHC?

I will have an interview with the associate director of admissions soon, I generally give very good interviews and have been told that I know more about the university than the admissions officer does, or it felt like they were talking to an old friend. also i have been told that i have nothing to worry about at other schools like dickinson, hobart william smith, gettysburg, and franklin marshall. But my mom thinks that I may not get in with my grades and sat scores. my gpa is a 3.0 and i have an 1890 on the sats. i have been swimming for 8 years and I have been on my high school swim team for four years, i was co-captain this year. I have a wealth of extra curricular activities and I have recently taken a leadership position in my schools mock trial club, I am currently the secretary and one of the head attorneys. Is Mount Holyoke out of my league, be honest. With a good interview would I have a chance of being waitlisted or even accepted? I would be applying regular because I was told that a more competitive poll of applicants applies early and I have a better chance for admission if I apply regular. MHC is the only women's college I am applying to, I would apply to Barnard but it really is out of my league. I have visited and toured MHC and I known the area of South Hadley/Amherst/North Hampton very well because I took a three week summer course at Amherst College and earned college credits from Amherst in Writing and Spanish.
